A 37-year-old sex offender posed as a child on an internet chat room, persuaded an 11-year-old to send him photos of her genitals before posting them online with the message: ‘She does gang bangs.’

Spencer Scott Kellam, from Pompano Beach, Orlando, joined chat rooms meant for children and searched dating sites for women who had children.

Prosecutors also found dozens of soft child porn images on his computer.

When sentencing him on Thursday, a judge said the most disturbing thing about the case was how he had singled out an 11-year-old girl from Ireland, duped her into sending him naked photos of her private parts and then posted them online.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Kellam contacted the girl from a computer in his Pompano Beach home using a website aimed at letting children talk to each other anonymously.

The Irish girl sent him a picture of her face and then her genitals, thinking she was talking to someone of the same age.

When she found out he was an adult she called him a creep. It was then that he retaliated by posting her pictures on the same website under her own username followed by ‘-nude’

He wrote next to them that ‘shes does gang banging and cyber’.

The 11-year-old told her parents but they did not want to go through the trauma of testifying.

It was the parents of another 11-year-old, from Indiana – also contacted by Kellam – who helped federal agents find him.

In this case, he had sent her an adult porn movie.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Parente said that agents found videos and dozens of hardcore child porn images – including images of infants being sexually abused and child bestiality images.

In court on Thursday, he apologized and tried to convince U.S. District Judge Daniel Hurley that he now found the material ‘repulsive’ and that he needed psychological help.

He said: ‘I unfortunately look at the screen and see just a bunch of lights. It’s not real life, it’s fantasy land.’

He said the child porn was like playing video games, the players weren’t real and everything only happened online. 

Judge Hurley said Kellam was undeniably a pedophile and a ‘walking public safety concern’.

He told him in court: ‘You’re creating an excuse for yourself that just doesn’t fly. These are not dots and lights on a computer, these are real people.’

According to the Sentinel, Hurley sentenced Kellam to six years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervision by law enforcement, required him to register as a sex offender, banned him from any form of unsupervised contact with children under 18, and restricted his ability to use computers in the future.

He also urged parents to monitor their children’s access to the internet.

‘I think the fear that every parent has is the computer is a highway that can come directly into your child’s bedroom,’ the judge said.

A thief stole the handbag of a hit-and-run victim as her decapitated body lay in the road, a court heard yesterday.

Marc Kirvin, 46, picked up the bag, which contained £1,600 in cash, minutes after grandmother Sawari Ashraf, 62, was hit by a lorry.

The impact propelled Mrs Ashraf’s bag 400ft from her body and Kirvin claimed he did not know an accident had occurred.

He told police he was looking for work that day and had taken the money ‘because of greed’.

His arrest came after CCTV pictures were published of the theft – during which he also took the dead woman’s shoes – on March 29 in Longsight, Manchester.

The grisly nature of the incident also led to ghoulish onlookers taking sick pictures of the scene and posting them on the internet.

Jennifer Baines, prosecuting, said she accepted it was plausible that Kirvin, who was travelling in a different lorry, may not have been aware of the crash as there had been little reaction by motorists in that area and there had been no obvious debris.

She added: ‘The most aggravating feature in this case is because he took the handbag, police had no identification and the lady’s family weren’t aware for two days that their mother and their grandmother had been taken from them.’
Officers had to trawl missing persons’ records and issue several public appeals for information before finally identifying Mrs Ashraf’s remains.

Since the family are Muslim, they were said to be deeply troubled at the fact they could not bury her body as soon as possible, which is  traditional.

Their statement concluded: ‘Our family cannot express the stress, anxiety, heartache and sadness this has caused.’

Manchester magistrates’ court heard Kirvin was arrested after an appeal on Crimestoppers was answered.

His wife Alison said he felt guilty taking the money and was going to spend it on their children at Christmas, but she said she had persuaded him to hand it in to the police, which he planned to do.

Kirvin, of Altrincham, Greater  Manchester, yesterday admitted theft and was warned he faced imprisonment.

District Judge Wendy Lloyd adjourned the case until June 20 for reports. She said: ‘The defendant must have known that losing that sum of cash would be massively distressing to anyone. He must be prepared for the worst.’

A lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but has been freed on bail pending further inquiries.

A man with suspected ties to white supremacist groups planned to attack a Mexican consulate believing it would stir debate on immigration amnesty issues ahead of the 2012 presidential election, authorities said.

Joseph Benjamin Thomas, 42, who the Federal Bureau of Investigations believe prepared to attack the St Paul, Minnesota facility, also told an undercover FBI agent he considered himself a ‘domestic terrorist’ instead of an American.

Thomas hasn’t been charged with any terrorism-related crimes, but a federal affidavit revealed that Thomas said he would risk his life for the white supremacist movement in the event of a ‘race war.’

The document, recently unsealed in federal court, provides new details about the investigation into Thomas’ alleged plan.

He was indicted in April on drug charges, though authorities had been watching him and another man since 2010 as part of a domestic terrorism probe.

The affidavit said he’d amassed weapons and wanted to attack minorities, people with left-leaning political beliefs and government officials.

‘We consider him a threat, and we believe he had the capacity to carry these threats out,’ FBI spokesman Kyle Loven said.

H went on to say: ‘This was a lengthy investigation, and it was driven by our belief that the intentions of these persons were sincere.’

In addition to the plot against the consulate, the FBI alleges, Thomas had collected license plate numbers of people with Barack Obama bumper stickers and had asked an associate to volunteer at a left-leaning bookstore to obtain customers’ addresses.

The affidavit alleges that Thomas and another man arrested in April, 31-year-old Samuel James Johnson, were trying to form a supremacist group with a militant wing.

Thomas told an undercover agent he expected a race war within two years and that his group would be able to control an interstate and airports to prevent the military from coming into Minnesota, the affidavit said.

In the plot against the consulate, Thomas allegedly told an undercover agent he wanted to steal a pickup truck, load it with barrels of oil and gas, drive it into the consulate and allow the mixture to spill, then set it ablaze with a road flare.

Thomas also said he’d found recipes for the mixture and instructions for making napalm, the affidavit said.

The affidavit alleged Thomas wanted to carry out the attack on May 1, a day used in recent years by activists in the U.S. to hold rallies for immigrant rights.

But he later said the attack couldn’t happen that day, blaming personal reasons and noting more police were in the area, the affidavit said.

FBI agents reported seeing Thomas conducting surveillance on the consulate building in December. At that point, he told an undercover agent he wasn’t sure if the plot should move forward but continued to develop it and found a place where 55-gallon barrels could be stolen.

Thomas also suggested placing hoax explosive devices along the May Day parade route in the Twin Cities, saying he had video of prior parades so he could identify parade participants.

Thomas, from the St. Paul suburb of Mendota Heights, was indicted on four charges related to possession and sale of methamphetamine, while Johnson, of Austin, Minnesota, was indicted on weapons charges.

The indictment said Johnson’s prior convictions barred him from having weapons, though he was found with five – including a semi-automatic assault rifle – and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

According to an affidavit unsealed last month, Johnson was a former member and Minnesota leader of the National Socialist Movement, a white nationalist group, and he and Thomas were trying to form a spinoff group called the Aryan Liberation Movement with the intent of committing violence.

FIRCREST, Washington —

Authorities have arrested a female social studies teacher on charges of sexually assaulting a male student.

Kristin Leone, 26, is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with the 16-year-old youth on two occasions in New Jersey.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes says detectives began investigating allegations against the Clifton High School teacher on Monday.

‘She’s 26. He’s 16,’ Valdes said. ‘He is her student and a subordinate to her, so while there’s no evidence that she coerced him or forced him physically, legally he cannot consent.’

Leone was arrested later in the day and released on $100,000 bond.

Her attorney, Ronald Ricci, says his client plans to plead not guilty to the charges.

The social studies teacher allegedly had two encounters with the teenage boy in April, including one encounter in a school classroom.

The other encounter occurred at the teacher’s home and allegedly involved sexual intercourse.

The prosecutor said there were no signs that anyone was coerced, but the relationship was not legal.

A woman shot and killed her husband because he made an obscene gesture at her, according to police.

Tracey Grissom, 30, from Northport, Alabama, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of her husband Hunter Daniel Grissom, 28.

Sheriff Ted Sexton says the couple had a history of domestic violence.

According to the arrest warrant, Grissom was driving to work when she saw her ex-husband at a boat landing.

She stopped to take a photo of him for litigation related to their divorce.

Sheriff Sexton says several witnesses watched as the man made an obscene gesture and the woman opened fire around 8am yesterday morning.

Authorities say the woman called 911 after using all her ammunition and told them she shot her ex-husband.

Hunter Grissom was previously charged with first degree rape, first degree sodomy, unlawful imprisonment and other drug-related charges, Sergeant Andy Norris with the Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office said. 

Tracey Grissom was the alleged victim in the rape and sodomy charges, according to Tuscaloosa County District Attorney Tommy Smith.

According to WSFA.com, Tracey Grissom told police she was raped and sodomized by Hunter Grissom in November 2010.

She reported that he bound her legs with his belt, dragged her from their closet into their master bedroom and sexually assaulted her.

Tracey told police she was then knocked unconscious on the floor of their bathroom and didn’t wake up until the next morning.

She went to the hospital for treatment following the alleged attack, and paperwork shows she had a gash on her head, bruises, bind marks on her feet and writing on her arm.

Court records show the couple have a four-year-old daughter together.

Police in northeast Iowa are investigating the deaths of a couple found in their Manchester home on Sunday in a Mother’s Day double slaying.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety late Sunday night confirmed that Manchester police officers responded to a 911 call at 2:23 p.m. and found two bodies in the house.

Law enforcement officials said they were seeking a ‘person of interest’ and were asking the public’s help in locating 17-year-old Isaiah Sweet.

Neighbors said the teen was the couple’s grandson and lived in the house.

Authorities described the case as a double murder.

‘It’s horrible. I don’t know what else to say. It’s horrible,’ said Jeffrey Madlom of Manchester, co-chair of the Delaware County Board of Supervisors. He acknowledged he was acquainted with the victims, but he declined to identify them.

Authorities were broadcasting a request on police radios in northeast Iowa for law enforcement officers to be on the alert for a 17-year-old Sweet who was last seen driving a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche outside Manchester.

Family members who had come to the house for a Mother’s Day gathering discovered the two bodies and called police.

A former American tennis star has been charged in the murder of his two-month-old son’s mother found strangled in his father’s home.

Benson Harrison O’Brien III, 35, once a top-ranked tennis player in Louisiana, turned himself in to police on the afternoon of his girlfriend’s death, on unrelated warrants for theft.

Police say 31-year-old Bridgette Harveston, the mother of O’Brien’s newborn son, Liam Patrick O’Brien, was found strangled in the home on Pat O’Brien Road in Covington hours earlier.

O’Brien is the grandson of Benson Harrison ‘Pat’ O’Brien, who founded New Orleans’ famous French Quarter bar Pat O’Brien’s in 1933.

Police responding to a neighbor’s 911 call for help the morning of May 7, after a tip-off from someone inside the home, reported finding ‘signs of an apparent struggle,’ according to NOLA.com.

Ms Harveston, who has two other young boys in addition to the two-month-old, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy revealed she died from strangulation and experienced blunt force trauma to both her face and head. 

On Saturday the charge of second-degree murder was added to O’Brien’s previous five counts of theft.

According to the Times-Picayune, the victim’s father, Blake Harveston, had previously advised his daughter to leave O’Brien because of his criminal background.

His list of offenses includes felony theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and simple burglary, reports NOLA.com.

The charges stretch between 1999 and 2011 with O’Brien having spent five years in prison for felony theft in 2003 and receiving a four-year sentence in 1999, with recommendation of the Intensive Motivational Program of Alternative Correctional Treatment program for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The man accused of abducting, raping, and beating to death an eight-year-old girl was found guilty of first-degree murder Friday in an Ontario court.

Michael Rafferty was found guilty on all counts – including kidnapping, causing bodily harm, and sexual assault – after he abducted eight-year-old girl Victoria ‘Tori’ Stafford outside of her school more than three years ago.

As he listened to the verdict, Rafferty remained stone-faced. However, Tori’s family burst into tears as the verdict was read, CBC reported.

Tori’s father Rodney Stafford said he had mixed emotions upon hearing the verdict.

He said he ‘wanted to scream in the courtroom, but I just couldn’t… at the same time (I felt) a sense of loss because Tori’s not coming home,’ he told the Montreal Gazette.

The girl’s mother Tara McDonald, left the courthouse crying and did not offer a statement to the media.

Nine female and six male jurors heard testimony from 62 witnesses and took just over a day to deliberate.

CBC notes that they returned into the courtroom a number of times on Friday to clarify questions they had on sexual assault.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Heeney said the jury’s decision was ‘just and amply supported by the evidence,’ CBC News reported.

The 31-year-old will remain in custody until May 15, at which point he will be sentenced. A guilty verdict in a first-degree murder means a mandatory 25 year sentence without the possibility for parole.

At that hearing, surviving family members of Tori will be able to give victim’s impact statements, CBC said.

Rafferty pleaded not guilty to all charges; his accomplice, 21-year-old Terri-Lynne McClintic, pleaded guilty two years ago to first-degree murder and is serving out a life sentence.

During the trial, the horrifying brutality with which the eight-year-old was raped and murdered has been laid bare, as graphic photographs of her mutilated body were shown to a packed courtroom.

Tori Stafford may still have been alive as she was being stamped on and beaten with a hammer before her corpse was stuffed into plastic bags and buried beneath a pile of rocks, jurors heard.

But perhaps most haunting of all, was what she was wearing when her decomposed body was found 103 days later – just a Hannah Montana t-shirt with the words: ‘A girl can dream.’

Jurors wept and the little girl’s father ran out as the court viewed the pictures, some of which were so horrifying that the judge banned even the reporting of their content.

The blonde and blue-eyed High School Musical fan went missing on her way home from school in Woodstock, Ontario, on April 8, 2009, sparking a hunt for the little girl that would last for three months.

Several important pieces of evidence were not released to jurors, including the fact that Rafferty’s laptop was used the day before Tori’s abduction to look up terms like ‘underage rape,’ ‘real underage rape pictures, and ‘nude preteen,’ CBC said.

In addition, a torture video was found on his laptop.

However, the potentially damaging information was considered inadmissible because police obtained it without a secondary warrant.

Judge Heeney ruled that a laptop – due to the massive amounts of personal and sensitive information it holds – should be considered a ‘place,’ and not merely a ‘thing.’

Though officers had the proper warrants to search Rafferty’s car and home, the police would have needed to obtain a second warrant for the computer and his BlackBerry, the Globe and Mail said.

Local drug addicts Michael Rafferty, 31, and Terri-Lynne McClintic, 21, were arrested a month later and charged with her murder.

In April 2010, McClintic pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life, while Rafferty denied all charges.

During the trial, many graphic images were shown to the jury.

Before showing the pictures, Ontario state pathologist Dr. Michael Pollanen warned jurors at Rafferty’s trial: ‘While you might recognize some of the body, you might not recognize all of it.’

He went on to tell how the bottom half of Tori’s body was so decomposed by the time she was found that it was impossible to tell if she had been raped or not.

But he did tell the court what was clear was that she had been stamped on, strangled and beaten with a hammer.

He said 16 of her 24 ribs were broken and her liver was lacerated in injuries consistent with blunt trauma such as stamping.

He said there were ‘so many fractured to the skull’ that it was difficult to see where one ended and another began.

He told the courtroom, which included Tori’s parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, that of four areas of her head that had been smashed, three were from a hammer’s claw and one with its blunt end.

He said that various fractures to her face could have been the result of kicking, stomping or blows from a hammer.

In the end, Tori died due to bleeding from the head wounds, brain damage and asphyxiation, he said. It is not clear know how long she was alive after she was kicked and stomped.

Rafferty appeared unmoved by what the court heard. He sat in the prisoner’s box with his eyes either half closed or looking up at the ceiling.

And in a further move that caused huge offence, Rafferty wore a new purple shirt and grey and purple tie – Tori’s favourite colour and the colour that has become the emblem of her family throughout the trial.

Tori’s body was found in woods adjoining a farmer’s field stuffed in plastic bags and buried under a pile of rocks.

Previously, Rafferty’s girlfriend, McClintic, told the court how she and Rafferty singled out the little girl because she was on her own – the first day she was allowed to walk back from school alone – and lured her to the car by saying they had a shih tzu puppy.

McClintic was high on Oxycontin, as she was most days, and had also smoked marijuana.

The drug-addicted couple made three stops, she said, to pick up Percocet, a highly-addictive narcotic pain killer, coffee and a hammer and garbage bags before arriving at the remote area chosen to kill the innocent school girl.

McClintic said she ‘knew what was about to happen’, so walked away from the car. When pressed as to what that was, she replied: ‘I believed he was going to rape her.’

After Rafferty sexually assaulted Tori the first time in the front seat of his Honda Civic, during which time she could hear screams and cries for help, he called McClintic to take her to the toilet, she told the court.

The 21-year-old recalled Tori was bleeding and crying and pleaded with her: ‘Just don’t let him do it to me again.’

‘I told her I was sorry and that she was a very strong girl. And she said “Like you?” And I told her she was much stronger’, she testified.

The convicted child killer then took Tori back to Rafferty, so he could commit the senseless, depraved act again.

Rafferty’s former girlfriend told the packed courtroom that as they were walking back to the car, Tori wouldn’t let go of her hand. All she was wearing was her favourite Hannah Montana T-shirt.

‘She asked me to stay with her. I tried to hold on to her hand but I couldn’t stay because I knew what was going to happen,’ said the former drug addict. ‘I couldn’t be there for that. I left.’

‘I kept having flashbacks. Sometimes it was like I wasn’t even there,’ she said. ‘I realized I needed to do something so I turned back to the vehicle and… when I saw what was going on, all I saw was myself when I was that age and all the anger and hate and rage that I’d had and blame that I still feel towards myself came boiling up out of me.’

She walked back to the car, put a garbage bag over Tori’s head and started to kick her. She then struck her repeatedly with both sides of the hammer on the head, she told the court.

‘I went back to the vehicle and I savagely murdered that little girl,’ she said to a stunned and horrified courtroom.

They both buried the body, she recounted, before washing themselves and the car so no evidence could be found.

The pair had been dating just over a month when they carried out the gruesome crime. McClintic said it was Rafferty’s idea and said they would be like Bonnie and Clyde.

A 49-year-old high school secretary has been charged after a 16-year-old former student confessed to engaging in sex acts with her in a church parking lot.

Montreia Barney of Spanish Fork, Utah, has been charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a 16 or 17-year-old, a third degree felony, and obstructing justice, a class A misdemeanor, according to documents filed in April in 4th District Court. 

The finance secretary’s relationship with the teen began in the summer of 2010 when he returned to his former school, Mt. Nebo Jr. High School, in Payson, to visit friends.

The pair began having phone sex, which culminated in a pre-arranged meeting in a church parking lot.

Over the course of 15 to 20 minutes, Barney, then 47, and the unnamed victim, engaged in a variety of sex acts in her vehicle, according to the Daily Herald. 

‘It only stopped when the victim’s brother approached the vehicle and asked what was going on,’ according to court documents obtained by the newspaper. 

‘The defendant told him that she had been stood up on a tennis game by a friend so she was just hanging out.’

The victim confessed to the illicit relationship during a pre-mission interview with a church leader, according to Deseret News.

But Barney denied the inappropriate phone calls and the sexual encounter when questioned by police in March 2012.

When officers said they had obtained witness accounts, however, Barney claimed to have got lost on her way to a tennis game and ended up in the church parking lot where she had had a chance meeting with the student for two or three minutes.

Prosecutor Craig Johnson said the victim has found it difficult to put the experience past him. 

‘The victim is struggling, having held this in for two years,’ Johnson told the Daily Herald.

‘But now that he’s in counseling he has found the strength and courage to go forward. He does feel some relief.’

‘There is no such thing as a victimless crime,’ Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater said.

Figueredo was arrested on a first-degree grand theft charge on Thursday, nearly three years after his boat, the ‘Star One’ went missing.

Police said the 80-foot yacht was reported stolen from Key Biscayne in Miami on May 4, 2009.

A woman was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a heated argument in the early hours of Friday morning.

Yekaterina Pusepa was led handcuffed from the grisly scene in tears, her white T-shirt, jeans and arms covered with the blood of her injured boyfriend, Alec Katsnelson.

She was pictured on the sidewalk outside her New York home sobbing as she was led away from the scene of the crime.

Several police officers were called after the couple’s loud arguing disturbed neighbours in the middle of the night.

Pusepa wept in court on Saturday when she was charged with attempted murder and second-degree assault, but she did not speak during the hearing

Pusepa, 22, allegedly pulled a kitchen knife on Mr Katsnelson, also 22, in the lower Manhattan apartment they shared with his cousin during an argument that woke neighbours.

One neighbour told the New York Post: ‘She was screaming more and louder.

‘It was anger and hostility like someone making threats. You could tell there was a fight.’

Pusepa was heard yelling ‘call 911’, telling the operator: ‘There is someone bleeding on the street – he’s either shot or stabbed!’

She then dragged his blood-soaked body from the second-floor apartment down onto the street and lay on top of him.

The accused claimed her boyfriend’s wounds were self-inflicted, that she had grabbed a kitchen knife in the midst of their fight but that he had wrestled it from her and plunged it into his own chest.

Sources told the Post that that was untrue and that she had changed her story under questioning after her arrest at around 3.30am.

The couple had been dating since November and were said to have a turbulent relationship.

Mr Katsnelson had once tried to kick Pusepa out of the flat, leading to a fight that saw him spend the weekend in jail.

Mr Katsnelson, a Duane Reade worker, was apparently trying to get a restraining order against his violent girlfriend.

His mother told the paper: ‘He’s in love with her. I tell him this is the wrong relationship but he wouldn’t listen.’

Pusepa has been charged with attempted murder and assault in the second degree. 

She has been in trouble with the law in the past, having been busted for driving under the influence on Christmas day 2009.
