Juror jailed for ‘friending’ pretty defendant in auto negligence case on Facebook

A juror who sent a ‘friend’ request to a defendant on Facebook and then bragged about being dismissed from jury service has been jailed. Jacob Jock was told he will spend three days in jail after a judge branded his actions an ‘insidious threat to the erosion of democracy’. The 29-year-old was led from a Florida court in handcuffs to begin his sentence, after being found guilty of criminal contempt of court. Jock had been selected for jury service on an auto negligence case in Sarasota, Florida, last December, where Violetta Milerman was on trial. Read more: DailyMail
