Maths teacher ‘offered student, 16, better grades in exchange for nude pictures and sexual texts’
A maths teacher allegedly asked a 16-year-old student for naked pictures and sexual texts in exchange for better grades.
Timothy Moll, 25, was arrested today after being accused of asking the girl to send him messages about sex and sexual positions.
Moll also allegedly promised the student extra points toward her grades if he was ‘turned on’.
The teacher at Dieruff High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania has been charged with corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor, reports The Express-Times.
Allentown School District Superintendent Russell Mayo declined to comment on the arrest but said that Moll, who earns $44,000 a year, was on administrative leave.
The charges result from an investigation which began in January after the student was caught using her mobile in class, reports the Express-Times.
When school officials were told she may have been receiving messages of a sexual nature from a teacher, a police officer obtained the phone numbers of the student and Moll.
Using a court order, police officers were able to retrieved details of the text messages sent, according to the report.
Moll, who has been released on $20,000 bail, is due to appear for a preliminary hearing on Friday.
The charges come just two weeks after the school’s athletic director Tim Geiger, 44, was arrested after police said they caught him buying cocaine while they were carrying out surveillance on a suspected drug dealer.
