‘Why don’t you just shoot me?’ Woman’s taunt to husband before he ‘launches deadly shotgun attack’
A woman’s last words to her husband before he allegedly gunned her down were; ‘Why don’t you just shoot me?’
Christopher D. Thorson, 64, reportedly told investigators what his wife of 37 years, 55-year-old Vanessa M. Thorson’s last words were after she was killed on Thursday.
Thorson has been arrested and booked into the Mason County jail for investigation of murder after the shooting at the Lake Cushman home, Washington state.
Mason County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy B. Dean Byrd told keprtv.com
Byrd said it appears alcohol was a factor in the incident.
The Sheriff said that Thorson told detectives the couple had been fighting and arguing since early on Thursday morning.
Thorson reportedly said his wife kept calling him names and yelling at him.
Finally, according to Byrd, Mrs Thorson said to her husband, ‘Why don’t you just shoot me?’
Thorson allegedly then went into the bedroom, assembled his shotgun and loaded it before going into the living room and shooting her.
Investigators said Thorson then went out on his back deck, smoked a cigarette and had a glass of wine, before calling 911.
Deputies and medics arrived at the house at around 4pm and Mrs Thorson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to keprtv.com.
At his first court appearance on Friday, Thorson was ordered to be held on $1 million bail. He is next due in court on April 23.
